Trudy A. Perry

Trudy A Perry 68, of Iowa City, died Saturday in her home after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her family.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday January 2, 2013 at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with Pastor Art Sathoff officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Jan 1, 2013 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, Iowa.

She was born to the late Harlan Perry and Jewel E. Perry (nee Winfrey) October 29, 1944 in Fairfield, Ia. Trudy graduated from Ollie Consolidated High School and attended Parsons College and a local Beauty school. She married Richard A. Sells in 1963 and had 2 daughters: Stacy Lewis-Sells (Michele) and Cheri Sells.

Trudy worked as a beautician, a stay at home mom and as a supervisor at Goodwill Industries in Iowa City until a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis caused her early retirement. Trudy loved spending time with her grandchildren, shopping, and collecting angel figurines. She also had a green thumb and her homes were always filled with beautiful plants and flowers that she doted on.

Trudy was an active member of First Christian Church in Fairfield before returning to Iowa City in 2006 to be closer to her daughters. Trudy is survived by her daughters, five grandchildren, an aunt, and many cousins.
