Velma L. Campbell, age 79 of Douds, IA, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA.
Funeral services were held 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Lebanon United Methodist Church in Lebanon, IA. Rev. Len Garrison officiated.
The family requests memorials be made in lieu of flowers to Douds First Responders.

Velma L. Campbell was born in Stockport, IA on August 11, 1927, the daughter of Orla Irvin and Lena May (Tompkins) Watson. She was a 1945 graduate of Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, IA.
Velma was united in marriage with Reid Dale Campbell in Iowa City, IA on February 19, 1945. They are the parents of five children: Dale, Darlene, Duane, Dorcie, and Audrey. She was a teacher in the Hillsboro area, as well as a devoted wife and mother.
Velma is survived by her husband, Reid, and their children and families: Dale & Rose Campbell of Port Byron, IL, Darlene Philips of North Liberty, IA, Duane & Mary Finney Campbell of Bloomfield, IA, Dorcie & Dean Worrell of West Point, IL, and Audrey & Dan Meyer of Swisher, IA. Velma has 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Survivors include one brother and one sister: Everett & Doris Watson of Fairfield, IA, and Crystal Westercamp of New London, IA.
Velma was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister: Elvin, Verne, and Ruth Watson.
