Victorine "Vicky" May Townsend

Victorine "Vicky" May Townsend, age 87 of Fairfield, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Jefferson County Health Center.

A Graveside Celebration of Life will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday September 18, 2012 at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield with Pastor Danny Cary officating.

Vicky was born on April 21, 1925 in Fairfield to Earl and Alta Bryant Salts. She married John "Jack" Gorman, to which 3 children were born and they later divorced. She then married Elmer Whitlock and gained a step-son; Elmer later passed away. Vicky married Keith Townsend and he also preceded her in death.

She graduated from Fairfield High School with the class of 1943. Vicky had been a retail sales lady at Martin's Drug Store, Martha Brown Limited, Econo Foods and Pamida. She had also worked at the Jefferson County Hospital.

Vicky is survived by 3 children: Deah (LaVerne) Westercamp of Farmington, Richard (Carol) Gorman of Temple City, California and Kim (Rick) Kurtz Schmidt of Fairfield, 1 step-son: Michael Whitlock, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands and 1 great-granddaughter.
