Vincent Gavre

Vincent "Vince" Gavre, age 92, of Keosauqua, passed away December 25, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Center.

His body will be cremated, and private family services held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Vincent "Vince" Gavre was born April 5, 1914 in Port Edwards, WI. He was the son of John and Elizabeth (Shipinsky) Gavre. He was united in marriage with Eleanor Bloohm, and she passed away in Tucson, AZ on November 9, 1989. They were the parents of two sons: Marshall and Kevin.

Vince was U.S. Army veteran of WWII, where he served as captain. He was employed as a teacher and coach in the Waukesha School System in Waukesha, WI.

Vince is survived by his sons and their families: Marshall Gavre of Fairfield, IA, and Kevin Gavre of Waukesha, WI. Vince has two grandchildren.

Preceding Vince in death are his parents, his wife Eleanor, and seven siblings.
