Virginia Ruth Glassford

Family visitation was held 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, Iowa.

Funeral Services were held 10:30 AM, Thursday, June 9, 2005 at Cedar Creek Friends Church (South and West of Oakland Mills), with Rev. Don coffin officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Creek Cemetery.

Virginia Glassford was born at home in Jefferson County on March 28, 1925, the daughter of Jay A. and Mabel Anna (Trueblood) Wilson. She lived all her life in the Lockridge community and was a graduate of Salem High School. Virginia was the mother of two children, Jerald and Karen. She was a machine operator at Metro Mail Factory and a waitress at Woody's Restaurant. Virginia was a member of Cedar Creek Friends Church, the Stitch & Chatter Club and the Dorcas Society.

Virginia is survived by her children and their families: Jerald Glassford of Kirksville, Missouri, and Karen and husband Randy of Batavia, Iowa. She was grandmother to Scott Glassford, Jennifer Sanders and Brian Major and Great-grandmother to Tyler Sanders. Survivors include a sister, Carole and husband Duane Birkholz of Osage, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.
