Virginia May Londquist

Virginia May Londquist, age 87 of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2007 at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

Funeral services were held 10:30 AM, Thursday, February 22, 2007 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with Rev. Mike Metz officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

The family requests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield.

Virginia May Londquist was born in Richland, IA on October 18, 1919, the daughter of D.H. and Ethel May (Haworth) Chacey. She graduated from Richland High School in 1937.

Virginia was united in marriage with Gerald Londquist on September 18, 1941. They were the parents of three children: Jerry, Tom, and Nancy. Gerald passed away July 19, 1997.

Virginia was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Guild Circle. Virginia enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, playing cards and watching TV.

Surviving Virginia are her sons and their familes: Jerry and Saundra Londquist of Burlington, IA, and Tom and Vicki Londquist of Cedar Rapids, IA. Virginia has five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, her parents, one daughter, Nancy Londquist, three brothers and one sister: Donald, Orville, and Homer Chacey, and Eloise Allison.
