Vivian Bernice Kempf, age 89 of Washington, formerly of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the McCreedy Home in Washington.
There will be a Memorial Service at Behner Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2012 with Pastor Danny Cary officiating. The body has been cremated.

Vivian was born June 4, 1922 in Ottumwa, to George and Daisy McClure Cudworth. She married Ralph A. Kempf on December 30, 1942 in Lancaster, Missouri. They later divorced.
She was a housewife and was raised in the Selma and Eldon area.
Vivian is survived by 7 children: Ralph W. Kempf of Ft. Madison, Carolyn Sanderson of Libertyville, Paul Kempf of Hillsboro, Wilda Prevett of Stockport, Donald Kempf of Hedrick, Chester Kempf of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Gary Kempf of What Cheer, 18 grandchildren: James Sanderson, Diana Sanderson, Sharon Hendricks, Kevin Kempf, Sherry Helmick, Polly Kempf, Paul Kempf, Joshua Grove, Ben Grove, Shelly Conger, Wendy Beason, Katie Kempf, Noah Kempf, Gary Kempf Jr., Aaron Kempf, Dawna Kurnes, Tami Kurnes and Amy Conyers, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 sister: Norma Joseph of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son: Henry Kempf, 1 daughter: Gloria Conyers, 1 grand-daughter: Diana and 2 brothers in infancy.
