Wanda Mae Bird

Wanda Mae Bird, age 85 of Fairfield, passed away November 18, 2010 at the Jefferson County Health Center.

Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 22, 2010 at Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, with Pastor Danny Cary officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Behner Funeral Home.

Wanda was born in Mt. Pleasant on May 23, 1925, to Ernest Cary and Ethel J. Reichley Shepp. She married Charles "Ronald" Bird in Kahoka, Missouri. They later divorced.

Wanda worked at Universal Producing for 15 years, then at Henry County Health Care, IAA Plant and American Chain and Cable, where she retired after 11 years.

Wanda is survived by 3 children: Charles E. Bird of Fairfield, Joyce J. Frost of Corpus Christi, Texas and Judy L. Williams of Fairfield, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and former husband Ronald.
