Wanda Joan Silvers

Wanda Joan Silvers, age 78, of Fairfield passed away, September 9, 2013 at Jefferson County Health Center, Fairfield, Iowa.

Visitation for family and friends will be 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Behner Funeral Home & Crematory. Following the visitation her body will be cremated. Burial of cremains will be at a later date.

Wanda was born September 25, 1934 in Oskaloosa, Iowa to Calvin Monroe and Edith Laverne (Poe) Swim. She married Merle Guy Silvers November 3, 1951 in Eddyville, Iowa. He died August 6, 2007.

She lived in the Jefferson and Van Buren Counties all her life. Wanda has lived for the last 2 A½ years at Sunnybrook Living Care Center. She was a self-employed child care giver and housewife. Wanda loved to crochet, cook, bake, play cards and do puzzles.

Wanda is survived by her two daughters: Connie (Richard) Richardson and Mary (John) Pohren of Lockridge, Iowa; 5 Grandchildren: Anthony Long, Tina Sanderson, Jason Pohren, Josh Pohren and Jared Pohren; 12 Great Grandchildren; 1 sister: Wyota Scott of Knoxville, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
