Wendell Robert Kitch

Wendell R. Kitch age 77, of Fairfield, Ia. passed away Saturday August 27, 2011 at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Behner Funeral Home with Father Stephen C. Page officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

Visitation for family and friends will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, Iowa.

Wendell R. Kitch was born April 27, 1934 in Mount Pleasant, Iowa to Howard and Cecelia Vandersnick Kitch.

Wendell was a lifelong resident of Fairfield community. He worked for Dexter Co. as a machinist for over 40 years. His hobbies and memberships include the VFW post # 2271, Eagles Lodge # 1927, The American legion. He was an avid fan of all sports; his favorites were the St. Louis Cardinals and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He enjoyed playing cards, and visiting with friends over coffee. Wendell served in the US Air Force.

Wendell is survived by 2 sisters: Shirley Kitch and Rita Vandersnick, both of Fairfield and 1 brother: Ronald Kitch of Cedar Rapids and several nieces and nephews.

Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers: Marvin, Reuben, Bill, Donald and 1sister: Jean McGee.
