Willa "Mae" Harrison

Willa " Mae" Harrison, age 94, of Libertyville, Iowa passed away July 6, 2013 at Henry County Health Center in Mt Pleasant.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Cecil officiating. Burial will be at Fell Cemetery, south of Libertyville, Iowa.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers Memorials can be made to the Libertyville Fire Department or Libertyville Faith Methodist Church. Cards and memorials can be sent to 507 N. Lee Street, Mt Pleasant Iowa 52641-1442.

Mae Harrison was born on August 13, 1918 in Eldon, Iowa to John William and Maggie Leoda Potts Allison. She married Ralph "Johnny" Harrison in Memphis, Missouri on May 29, 1941. He passed away In Ottumwa, Iowa on March 15, 1991.

Growing up Mae's Dad worked for the railroad so they lived in many places. They settled in Jefferson County where she spent the rest of her life living and working. Mae was a graduate of Fairfield High School and Parsons College. She spent almost 42 years as a devoted and caring school teacher working for the Fairfield Community School District.

Mae is survived by many nieces and nephews: Margaret Mae (Peg) Freshour, Robert (Bob) Allison, Robert M. Cooksey, Raymond M. Cooksey, Teressa M. Yung, Randy G. Cooksey, Jon Wayne Allison, Sue Allison Scobee, Gary Allison, and sister-in-law: Janie Allison.

Willa was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 sister: Margaret (Beth) Cooksey; 4 brothers: Ira (Deyo), Keith (Leroy), William (Bill), John Jr. (Jack) Allison; 2 nephews: Larry Gene Allison, Donnie L. Allison.
