Wyona F. Dorothy, age 91, of Stockport, IA, passed away at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center In Keosauqua, IA on Monday, July 23, 2007.

Graveside funeral services were held 10:00 AM, Friday, July 27, 2007 at Spencer Cemetery in Stockport, IA with Gale Dorothy offering words of comfort.

The family requests memorials be made to Stockport American Legion or the Stockport Senior Center.

Wyona F. Dorothy was born February 19, 1916 in Washington, IA to Lacy and Eva (Atwood) Loving. She was united in marriage with Kenneth Giberson, who passed away in 1953. She later married Mike Dorothy in 1954, and he passed away in 1978.

Wyona was a devoted mother and homemaker. She was employed as cook at the Congregate Meals Site in Stockport, and the Neighborhood Center in Keosauqua. Wyona was a member of the Stockport Christian Church, Big Cedar Christian Church and the Stockport American Legion Auxiliary.

Wyona is survived her her children and their families: Shirley Cocherell and husband Harold of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Garry Giberson and wife Barbara of Douds, IA, Sharon Askew and husband Gary of Stockport, IA, Gene Giberson of Kansas City, MO, James Dorothy of Pulaski, IA, Jerry Dorothy of San Antonio, TX, Janet Bartholomew of Glenwood, IA, and Wendell Dorothy and wife Debbie of Birmingham, IA, step-children: Milford Dorothy and wife Marian of Centerpoint, IA, Myrlen Dorothy and wife Kathy of Mt. Pleasant, IA, and Myrna Dietzman of Keosauqua, IA.

Wyona has 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren. Survivors include one brother, Lacy Loving, Jr. of Stockport, IA.

Wyona was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, one grandson, Jesse Bartholomew, and one sister, Waunita Smith.
